Short answer: Our customer satisfaction survey shows that it is, above all, other people’s experiences and a positive first point of contact that convince customers to start using the pharmaceutical waste collection service. It’s normal to hesitate; having the right information at the right time makes all the difference.
Almost no one starts using our pharmaceutical waste collection service without some hesitation. Yet they do go ahead with it. When does it all click into place? From our customer satisfaction survey conducted in June 2026, which covered 1,010 customers, we know quite precisely what made people decide to start using our pharmaceutical waste collection service, and what that tells us about what constitutes a good decision.
In this article, we’ll go through the key reasons, with figures and the stories behind them.
The two most frequently mentioned factors
Two factors stand out by far as the most common in customers’ responses. Around 16 per cent mention positive reviews and testimonials from others as decisive factors. People read about others’ experiences on Instagram, via Google or through acquaintances, and recognised themselves in the stories of others who had already started. In addition, around 14 per cent mention a positive and prompt initial contact as the moment when their doubts disappeared: the way in which Goodweigh responded to an initial question or, during the intake call, instilled enough confidence to get started. Next come convenience and accessibility: the option to pause the programme when it doesn’t suit, without long-term commitments and with a simple sign-up process.
The power of personal stories
One customer put it this way: “I’ve heard positive stories on Instagram; I’ve already tried so many things and this really is my last attempt – and, to be honest, it’s working. I’m so happy.” These kinds of experiences achieve something that figures alone cannot: they make an abstract treatment concrete and personal. On our reviews page, you can read more stories from customers who have already taken this step.
Why the first point of contact is so important
Almost 14% cite the first point of contact as crucial, and it’s an underestimated moment. Anyone who hesitates and asks a question is actually expecting two things at once: a clear answer to the question itself and the feeling of being taken seriously. A quick, personalised response breaks the cycle of doubt, whilst a generic or slow response, on the contrary, reinforces it.
That is why the intake process at Goodweigh is deliberately designed around personal contact. For questions before and during treatment, you can always contact our customer service team. “Easy start”: what this means in practice
A third theme that comes up repeatedly is the option to start without major commitments. One customer described it as follows: “Easy start. I could give it a go and then cancel it again.” People do not want to make a long-term commitment before they know whether a treatment works for them.
Goodweigh’s weight-loss programme is therefore designed to be flexible: you start with a medical assessment and can stop the treatment when it suits your situation, in consultation with your supervising healthcare professional. This flexibility makes the first step psychologically safer, precisely because no irreversible decision is required to get started.
Unanswered questions: why it pays to ask questions in advance
Customers who hesitated for longer before starting were more likely to state in the survey that they had questions beforehand that had not been fully answered. This does not suggest that hesitation in itself is a problem: hesitation when faced with a medical decision is healthy and normal. However, it does show that unanswered questions can affect the experience afterwards, and that it is therefore worth asking these questions in advance rather than bringing them into the treatment. The better your questions and expectations have been discussed beforehand, the better the treatment will be tailored to your needs. Are you still unsure about anything? What does a good decision look like?
A good decision is neither impulsive nor put off indefinitely. The customers who are most satisfied in the long run are those whose questions have been answered: through reviews, through a good initial consultation, or through clear information that gave them a sense of knowing what they were getting into. Doubt is a healthy part of any medical decision. As soon as you have the information you need, any further delay is no longer caution, but procrastination.
Are you ready to take the plunge?
If you’re reading this and recognise yourself in the doubt, the questions and the search for reassurance, then you’ve probably come further than you realise. The step that helped customers the most in our survey was simply getting in touch and asking a question: for 14 per cent of them, that moment proved to be decisive.
